Body Percussion

Hey guys, today I will be sharing I have learnt in the past few weeks in music which is Hurumanu 2.

Body percussion is creating music or noise from your body or using an obeject like an instrument. We are trying to create body percussion. We have a group and each group does something to make a noise. My group was with Finau, Nevaeh, Neelaah and Artee. Our group decided to do sasa.

We used a long big tube, jandals and drumsticks to create the sound we recorded. Here is the body percussion we did. Hope you like!

Next time I hope we can create more different sounds because it sounds like we are doing the same thing.

Please give feedback!

Hurumanu 1

Hello, in our Nga tangata, Hurumanu 1 we studied the lives of some local, national and international Heroes. So in this paragraph I will share things we have done in Hurumanu 1.The definition of a hero is a hero who is a male or female or a group of people who are admired for their courage, outstanding achievements or noble qualities.

I have made 6 slides in google slides about sports heroes. They were Sir Richard Hadlee, Chelsea Bremner (She is one of the teachers in our school), Sir Peter James, Jo Aleh, Manny Pacquiao, and Sarah Hughes. They are really cool, check them out yourself later. Anyways I also made some slides about a local hero who achieved to be an artist and became a statue in Christchurch. His name is Bill Sutton.

We also read about a musical group called Crowded House. This band was said to be “Heroes for a day!” when they performed in Christchurch. Recently we researched some earthquake heroes and they were Allison Partridge, Andrew Anderson, Anja Hansen, Andrea Cummings, Charlie Hobbs and Bruce Harrington. We also recently discussed the meaning of ‘Hero Worship”.

The hero I worship is Jesus because I am a Christian. Lastly I wrote about myself as a superhero. My alias was Shinobu. Here is my story. “Hello my name is Shinobu and I know you will be confused about this! BUT I AM A HERO! I am just very unknown. I work for the 6 Hashiras”. Anyways that's it.

Hurumanu 3

Hi, in Te Ao Whanui, Hurumanu 3, we're studying inventions. So in this blog I will introduce things we have done in Hurumanu 3 and what Hurumanu 3 is all about! What is an invention? An invention is an object that has been made by someone and we are trying to adapt this. Here are some top 10 inventions, the first one is the Light Bulb, Air plane, Printing Press, Personal Computer, Clock, Automobile, Vaccines, Telephone, Refrigeration, and a Camera. We have mainly focused about clocks so here are the main 3 types of clock. Atomic, electric and mechanical clocks. The main two ways we can read time, we can read by analog or by digital. Next we have studied things about the wheel. Here are some interesting facts I have found or me and my classmates have found. Did you know the first wheel was used for pottery. The first wheelbarrow was in China! Turnspit dog used to cook meat! First roller skates was made in Belgium. the first motor car or motor bike was made in Germany. My DLO is about the invention of the wheel. To end it off I hope you have at least know things we are doing in Hurumanu 3. I hope you can understand. VR, Future TV, Robotics Among 'Best Inventions Of 2019' 11/21/2019Bontrager Aeolus Pro 37 TLR Disc Road Wheel | Trek Bikes

Skittles

Hey guys I will be sharing things from science.

Aim: To use water to extract the dye from skittles using the process of chromatography.

Materials: 5 skittles, water, petri dish, beaker.

Process:

1. Place the skittles into the petri dish around the edges.

2. Pour 100ml water gently into the middle of the petri dish.

3. record and take photos while watching the colours spread.

4. Post in blog ad put stuff away.

Television Timeline

Hey guys, today I want to share what we did in class today. I will be sharing a poster I made. Its not really a poster. I made a timeline of televisions like the evolution of televisions. As you know that in our generation now we are full of technology.

Here is the work I did. Please give me feedback for next time.

Ernest Godward

HEy guys today I will be sharing the work I did with my partner Artee in hurumanu 3. Please give feedback!

Ernest Godward / The Egg Beater

Who is Ernest Godward?

Ernest Godward was an English born inventor who moved to New Zealand. He was born in Marylebone, London on 7 April 1869. He was an engineer. He has invented many inventions.

What inventions did Ernest Godward make?

Ernest Godward had invented and patented an egg-beater that could prepare eggs for a sponge cake in three and a half minutes. He had also invented a new post-hole borer, a new type of hair curler, a burglar-proof window and a hedge trimmer made from bicycle parts.

When and why did he invent the egg beater

Ernest Godward made the egg beater in 1900. He made the egg beater so it would be easier for people to beat eggs for cakes mainly for sponge cakes. (That's all the information I could find on why he has made the egg beater.)

Facts:

--When Ernest Godward was 12, he was sent to prep school (private school) but after he ran to the seas landing in Japan, where he worked at a cabling ship between Nagasaki and Vladivostok, where the big US bomb landed and destroyed almost everything.

--He was also a son of a firefighter.

My Invention

Hey, last week in hurumanu 3 we had to make our own invention and we had to label the things in our invention. We also had to answer some hard questions that had to inquire a lot of thinking. (I didn't think well because I am not good at thinking).

Here is a photo of the invention I drew. I made this invention in my primary school but I changed some things up this year.

This invention is called "The Paper Maker." It's a bit blurry since I drew it in my book since its much more easier.

Here are the hard questions we had to answer: (I dont know if my answers will make sense)
1. Name of invention? The name of my invention is "The Paper Maker."
2. Purpose of it? The purpose of it is to help offices and make types of paper.
3. Made of? It is made of plastic metal and plastic.
4. How does it operate? It operates through electricity.
5. What does it need? It needs electricity and needs plain paper.
6.Where can it be used? It can be used in offices, art shops, home or at the library.

That is all I have to share. What do you think of my invention?

Clocks | Hurumanu 3

Hi, today I will be sharing some things I learnt and some things I did in hurumanu 3. In hurumanu 3 we focused on about clocks.

In hurumanu 3 we had a sheet full of questions about inventions but the questions were mainly about clocks. In that sheet we had to list 10 inventions that changed the world. The clock is one invention that changed the world. We also had to find some things about the clock, like how the parts of the clock are moving.

Here are some things I've learnt about atomic clocks.

The most precise timekeeper are atomic clocks. For atomic clocks to work they need to have masers.

Atomic clocks are used to record standard time.

Atomic clocks are very exact clocks.

Thats what I learned :)

Songs | Hurumanu 2

Hey guys, today I will be sharing 3 songs that I like and why I like them. So I will be explaining. Please give feed back.

First Song:

Losing Interest I like this because I like the background music, its very calm with hard beats and it makes me calm myself when I'm angry. It has this soft vocals in the voice and background voice. The song is a sad song and I like to enjoy sad songs. This song kinda have a part in me like a person lose interest in me or I lose interest in a person. This song is reality in real life that's why lots of people like it. It also makes me think back to memories with old friends or with family members.

Second Song:

Life Hates Us Now / Hated By Life Itself : This song talks about suicide, how so many people suicide and what suicide is and how people feel. Its a part of me because I had a friend who took their life and because I like listening to songs that explains suicide. My friend that took their life liked this song too and it makes me thing of them again. The memories we had.

Third Song:

Rainbow (Michael Pangilinan Cover) This song talks about rainbows and how the rainbow is such a beautiful thing and there is always a rainbow after the rain. I picked this song because its R&B. I like the R&B because its calming and it reminds me of my family because my family likes rainbow.

Thats it. I hope you learned something about me with these songs I shared! :)
