Business & Enterprise 2021

Greetings in todays blog I will be talking about the Business & Enteprise Kete we had in term 4.

I think Business and Enterprise is a group project for us students. Its a project for you to have your own business with other people. You will be in a group of four, you and your group will create your own business and create real products you are able to sell. In your group of four you will have roles for your business. You can be a CEO, Product Manager, Marketing Manager or Sales/Finance Manager.

We had weeks for this kete and through out those weeks I think I've learnt that a CEO has alot of responsibilities. For me I think people will most likely rely on the CEO most of the times. I've also noticed buying the supplies for your products wasn't so easy since we had a budget. Getting your jobs done in time was a lot of chaos too.

I was in a group of three and my teammates didn't want to find another person and that was a really big decision for us to make since it would be a lot more harder with only three people in your group and no one could fill in the last role. Our product choice was also an important decision because this is something you don't want to waste money on and this will be the product we will be selling on the final day. We had to make sure some people are actually going to buy our products. The product we were going to sell were inspirational posters and kpop posters.

My group was succesful with the products but on the market day I don't think we were so succesful. We had 16 products in total and not all of it were sold. I'm not even sure if we were able to sell at least half of it. Not much people came to us and were interested.

I think I believe out of the CARR values I was mostly showing respect by checking out other groups, not judging them, buying some products from others, not using the tokens that was in our money bag for our group and respecting peoples opinion about our products. I think I didn't show commitment, achievement and resilience because we weren't able to sell all our products and we gave up when we had plenty of more time to be sold out.

Seabirds

Greetings, in todays blog I will be sharing another presentation about creatures. Once again this is our task from our hurumanu teacher.

This presentation includes alot of information about seabirds. I will be talking about three seabirds. I hope you will also be fascinated by these facts as I was.

Here it is:

Kiwi Birds

Hey there, in todays blog I will be sharing another presentation but this time its about Kiwi birds.

While I was doing some research about the kiwi bird I didn't really find alot of information. We have to do research because this is part of our tasks. I chose the kiwi bird because I know only a bit about them so some facts also fascinated me.

Here is the poster I made using canva:

Brown Teal

Greetings, in today's blog I will be sharing a presentation I have been doing for the past days about the brown teal. This is basically a DLO.

We had to choose a topic we wanted to research about from this book called Uncle Don Knows Heaps of Wacky Stuff from pages 12-16. There were many interesting topics but I chose the brown teals because I haven't heard of them. Maybe I have but just not their name.

While I was doing some research I wasn't really that interested because they are just a type of duck but I still learnt a lot about them.

Here is my presentation, I hope you like it and please give feedback for next time.

My Holidays

Hey there, in this blog I will be sharing more things about my 2 weeks holidays.

In the holidays I did many boring things like sleeping in, playing games, staying up late, chores, and more. I barely did anything fun except hanging out with my friends or sleeping at a friends house.

I enjoyed hanging out with my friends in the park the most because its fun being around people again and able to have fun. Catching up with them and sharing some laughs together. This was good for my wellbeing because I got physical by running, playing some outdoor games.

One of the things I did in the holidays was go to the new swimming area in linwood. It was like a smaller version of Qe2 except it didnt have a slide instead it had a manu pool. I recommend trying it out because its not yet so crowded.

My Holiday

Hey there, today I will be sharing my 2 weeks holidays. What I did and more stuff.

For the whole 2 weeks Ive only been social by hanging out with my group of friends in the park or the mall. Ive also been social by calling with relatives and calling my friends. Catching up with them and stuff.

The only physical thing I did was probably go for a run around the feild in our park or go biking around the neighbourhood.

I tried boosting my thinking with games. I tried watching youtubers that are good in game thinking.

The things I enjoyed the most were playing games, staying up late, hanging out with friends, sleepovers and many more.

During the holidays I felt sad and lonely most of the time but the half of the time I felt good or fine.

Diary of a Wild boy

Hey there, today I read a book called "Diary of a Wild Boy." In this blog post I will be sharing some information that was included in the book.

Brando decided to walk around the coastline of New Zealand because he wanted to turn his life around. His life had hit a dead end, he didn't like the life he had and he wanted to find a way out.

This was going be a long journey for him so he brought a map, a tent, a knife, a backpack, a phone and more.

It took him about 600 days just to finish his walk or journey.

In what I've read so far. Bacon and seafood is what it says he has eaten.

After he passed Takaka he came across a river. So he decided to walk pass it because he thought it was shallow enough to walk. He kind of zoned out and didn't realise that as he kept walking it started to get deeper. Because of the weight of his boots and pack he fell into the water and started to sink. He was trying to stay afloat but that didn't last long.

His favourite part of the walk was when he stopped by at Kahurangi Coast. It was his favourite part of the walk because the place was filled with nikau palms. It was a tropical forest where you can see birds and cliffs.

He said the that the Canterbury Coast is one giant cliff. He has been walking at the bottom of it for days. In one of those days he found a sheep that had fallen onto the beach and it was hungry. He felt the same way as the sheep did and decided to help it. He made it a leash and became his companion. He even named the sheep Bettie. They've gotten close until he found alot of other sheep and dropped her off there.

The trip taught Brando that reaching the finish line is not what matters but its mainly the journey thats important.

Henry Sunderland

Hey there, today I will be sharing an artist we are learning about in our hurumanu class. I will be sharing 10 facts about him.

This artist I'm talking about is Henry Sunderland who was Head of Art at Hornby High for many years.

He has made 2 books. One is called "Yes, the Year of the Mask, 2020," and the other one is called "Lockdown Island 2020: 49 Daily Cartoons from New Zealand."

Did you know that he had a twin brother? Henry has worked as a Childrens presenter with TVNZ with his twin brother.

When he made the lockdown book, he sent a copy to Jacinda Ardern as she was part of the book.

The lockdown book has island settings, but each page something different is happening. His sketches were drawn on specialised note paper.

He lectured at ARA. Art and Design was his subject. He has recently reitred.

Henry is well-known in Canterbury as a gnomolosgist, artist and tutor.

He published his first book in the year 2020.

He is over 70 years old.

  5. Use the cabbage indicator to test the acidity of the different household liquids by slowly putting a drop at a time into the test tube.

Comic man

Hi there, today I will be sharing the work I did for my hurumanu 3 class. This work is about a famous perosn called Dylan Horrocks. They write comics.

Here is the work I did:

Comic Mans Timeline:

Explain:
A panel in a comic book is an individual frame or a single drawings

Frames are basic shapes where the drawings are placed

A text in a comic is something that is telling us what is happening

Borders in a comic is basically the same as frames in comics

Gutters are the space between panels

Speech bubbles are shapes where text is added

Captions are usually used to give voice to the narrator

Sound effects are used to describe someone's reaction

Details are something that makes information better or more detailed. Details can be used to describe something.

Character expression is a drawing of a character and showing its expression

Shape of speech bubbles can have different meanings for text.
